MAN UTD vs STOKE (1200 ko)
There’s something of West Ham about Stoke. They’re a decent team on paper, were expected to build on an encouraging last season, and have a penchant for conceding four times. But many on here will be grateful that it’s Stoke and not West Ham that travel to Old Trafford today. Forget about their toiled midweek European win, Man U’s victory over Leicester last weekend clearly demonstrated that their attacking potency lies just beneath the surface. Stoke might say the same, but they, like West Ham, lack the confidence that turns potential into reality. Home win.

LEICESTER vs SOUTHAMPTON (1415 ko)
A pity that this is on at the same time as the Man City game, because these two could well produce a cracking game. Both will be looking for points today. Buoyed by the win over Porto, Claudio Ranieri will be in no mood to rest on his laurels and will look to make all the running against the Saints. For his part, M. Puel can take heart from the Saints last two outings (spit x1) and will expect a point at least from their visit to the midlands to push Southampton within sight of the top five. Will the allegations against Eric Black be an unwelcome diversion? Probably not. Draw.

TOTTENHAM vs MAN CITY (1415 ko)
Yum yum. Finish your lunch, leave the washing up for later and take your beverage of choice to your favourite armchair for the game of the day. Kane’s out for Spurs and de Bruyne likewise for the visitors. Spurs have only conceded three league goals so far this season, while City have kept just one clean sheet. This will be a battle not only of two quality teams, but of tactics, strategy and two of the global game’s outstanding managers. Expect an open game with chances aplenty. Narrow away win.

BURNLEY vs ARSENAL (1630 ko)
Every point is worth its weight in gold to Burnley and they’ve done well to bank seven of them so far. Arsenal should be way too strong in this – on paper – unequal encounter, but will have to get through a disciplined home defence and take care not to be caught on the break and from set pieces. Away win.

Re: Sunday football
Mourinho will need to be given time if he is gonna make them a force again, they have looked very good at times, but top 4 is a realistic target for them this season.

Happy to see them dull cunts City get pegged back, even if it was Spuds doing the pegging.

Spurs are surprising me, maybe showing what a very good manager Potchetino is. Would have been very easy to have been deflated after the end of last season but they've started really well much to my annoyance.

The Special one, fast becoming the mediocre one, I see the fans are starting to turn against him, Its gong to end in tears, a meltdown or a massive tantrum or maybe a combination of all 3!

Arsenal were lucky, but at least it keeps Burnley in there place...........

As to fucking Spurs...*Spits in disgust.

Leicester have resumed normal service although slightly over achieving so far, another season or 2 and it will time for a spell in championship.

I turned off the Tottenham game after Alli scored. I absolutely hate those cunts.

Just adding to the misery of this season so far.

Burnley loss was unfair. Big teams get those decisions.

But from our standpoint keeps them in the relegation fight we are now in.

Fair point, I presumed he was allowed to pick players in their place. If your question is how would he do with 8 players, I think they'd lose a lot.

Can you give me a team line up with no strikers or left backs?

Re: Sunday football
Spurs are a fitter team, saw it last year too. Annoying but I think Pocchetino will take them even closer to the title this year.
They bounce back from CL games without any issues whilst we rest half the side after a game vs Astra....hhhhmmmmmm

Re: Sunday football
I think they'd be alright, because they all play a certain way. Their success is built on a system, not on individuals.

Re: Sunday football
:-)

Spurs defended well.
Wonder how they would do without both of their left backs (Rose, Davies) and their right back (Walker).
Plus their best three striking options (Kane , Son, .... presumably the donkey Jansen).

Payet is the only West Ham player good enough to get in that Tottenham team. Sickening but true.

Re: Sunday football
Im watching Leicester v Southampton. Southampton the better team but missed a couple of sitters. But am admiring that dutch centre back. What a good player and so comfortable on the ball and his passing out from the back superb. He was excellent against us too.

Wish we had him at the back or someone like that who can play. Reid and Collins are stoppers but its not enough.

Like with Spurs and other teams the central midfield and movement up front of Southampton allows them to keep possession so well. They sell their supposedly better players but you can see they have a system and philosophy and long term planning which allows them to produce good teams on a budget year after year. Lot we could learn from the way that club is run rather than our wheeler dealing :-(

their whole team has worked harder in 70 minutes than we have in all our games this season combined.

I wonder if Zaza is watching Son today??
Not just the pressing & working for the team but also the runs in behind defence where the quick ball can be played
